FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: David Williams HEALTHENGAGE 3.6 GOES WHERE NO MAC OS X SOFTWARE HAS GONE: BRINGS GLUCOSE METER UPLOAD SUPPORT TO MAC OS X June 13, 2005 -- FireLogic, Inc. today introduced a new version of its HealthEngage Disease Management software system for Type I & II Diabetics that for the first time allows Mac OS X users to upload data directly from their glucose meters, something none of the major glucose meter manufacturers currently support. HealthEngage Diabetes provides an easy, yet complete tool for Diabetics to enter their health information from any desktop computer or handheld device. FireLogic’s goal is to create the most powerful diabetes management software possible. New features for the 3.6 version include support for glucose meter direct upload, multiple insulin and dosages, fully editable glucose, improved metric and international support, a new Palm and PocketPC version, a Mac OS X Native Installer, and multiple bug fixes and feature improvements based on user feedback. The software is available for any version of Mac OS X, but has been optimized for version 10.4. It can also be used with Palm OS and PocketPC devices. The nutrition section utilizes the USDA’s database of over 6700 foods and allows for the storage and use of recipes. The exercise section includes the Sports Medicine Association’s database of over 700 exercises and physical activities. Users can also set reminders for appointments, refills, etc. and can even enter their complete laboratory test results and medications which can then be kept as their personal digital health record.
